A logical place for an indoor bench is inside the front or back door. Its a place where we can sit down to change our shoes or put on our boots. If its got the proper storage, we can use it to tuck away the backpack that too often goes missing in the morning, or the library books that have to go back before we pay a fine. It becomes a regular stopping place when we get home or just before we leave for the day.
Indoor benches are great for bedrooms too. In a childs bedroom a bench can double as a toy box or can be placed under a window as a window seat for reading. In the master, a bench works well at the end of the bed. There are some really great interior benches to choose from for the master, including those designed in the Oriental, Greek or Egyptian styles. These provide you with a nice place to get dressed in the morning.
When we generally think of ottoman they are nothing but a low, rectangular footrest, usually upholstered accompanying an accent chair. They are used as footrest and are perfect for comfortable seating. However ottomans have outgrown its role and we now see them along with sofa sets adding new features of extra seating or an occasional table. They come is different sizes and shapes and are much higher than the footrest. Ottoman involves a combination of shape, style and function. They are padded, upholstered low-rise bench with no armrests or back supports.
